The level and scope of the Sub-consultant Services should be discussed and
agreed with the Architect/Consultant to ensure that they are fully compatible
and coordinated with the Architect/Consultant’s obligations under the Head
Agreement and that they accurately reflect the requirements, particularly where the
Subconsultant is to perform limited services, such as only specifying specialist work,
not performing the full range of services within a stage, or is only undertaking certain
stages.
The procurement route and timescale will be set by the Head Agreement appended
to the PSC.
Key watchpoints
• The services should accurately reflect the Client’s requirements.
• Ensure that the architectural services are fully coordinated with other
disciplines.
• Services for Stages 0 and 7 should have separate PSCs.
• It is equally important to state what services are not being carried out.
