Chapter overview
This chapter looks at:
•how new procurement routes have changed the relationship between the
three entities that comprise the project team, as well as considering and
naming the two generic project teams
•the changes that have occurred within each of the three entities and how
these can give rise to overlaps and complexities when creating a project team.
The chapter concludes by summarising the changes and how they impact on
assembling the project team.

Before considering how to assemble a project team it is essential to consider
how the dynamics of the project team have changed over the years. A project
team at its simplest level comprises those entities illustrated in Figure 2.1.
